Founder John Rivers started smoking meats in his backyard in Sandy Springs, Georgia, inspired by the rich BBQ traditions of the American South. What began as weekend cookouts for friends and neighbors quickly grew into something much bigger.
The name 4 rivers pays tribute to the four rivers of Georgia — the Chattahoochee, Flint, Savannah, and Altamaha — honoring the land, the culture, and the communities that shaped this cuisine. Every recipe carries that heritage forward.
Today, 4rivers is celebrated as one of the finest smokehouse destinations in the region, serving slow-cooked meats, house-made sides, and genuine Southern hospitality every single day. We haven't forgotten where we came from — and we never will.
